BA (Hons) Fine Art: Painting
A lone ship trapped motionless in pack-ice on a gallery floor. A flag of unknown origin fluttering on an isolated hillside. An empty wooden encampment with no signs of the battles fought. A collection of rocket ships, once proud symbols, lying faded and still. Worn posters held together with sticky-tape, alluding to a revolution that never was. Working with a hobbyist-like enthusiasm, these are just some of the romanticized archetypes I utilise within my work. My interests lie within a certain heroic optimism that has characterized our shared history, and explores the dangerous position we are left in when this fails.
