BA (Hons) Costume for Performance
Theatre and performance became my earliest interests. As a young child I delighted in school plays and drama classes. Sometimes fantasy and spectacle roused my interest, other times the storytelling, insightful aspect of drama. I studied photography for a time, then directed my focus to costume design. When designing, I become fascinated by the world of the characters, sometimes thinking laterally about their past and their future. I am interested in the dramatic potential of the strange within the familiar. My work is often defined by bold use of colour. Prior to commencement of my studies at London College of Fashion I worked in professional theatre as a wardrobe/costume assistant, while I also experimented through design for fringe theatre and short film. I am looking forward to successfully continuing the learning process through collaborative involvements in this next phase of my career.
