Bushra has created the menswear brand "Trunk". Trunk encompasses "Post-colonial shabby chic" and is for the professional man who loves adventure and reflection. The collection is distinctive but wearable. Relaxed urban tailoring is used with hand woven fair trade fabrics subtly trimmed with recycled cloth. Full collection to be launch in SS09. More about Bushra : Bushra refuses to be stereotyped, having been trained both in science and design, with proven commercial experience in both fashion and financial services. She finds inspiration everywhere and anywhere. Her curiosity drives her to evermore diverse and contradictory specialisms. Her mind is always open to new ideas and people. She has worked with the leading players in the eco-ethical fashion sector since 2005. Fashion : Production management and buying THTC : mens-streetwear, particularly Tees (hemp and organic cotton) and graphics. People Tree : womenswear (hand woven fabrics, organic cotton, wool and alpaca) working closely with Carole Robb (ex Design Director for Monsoon). Financial services : Operations and IT Previously, she gained 6 years of project management, business analysis, software development and financial reporting experience within Insurance and Investment Banking. Expertise was gained in database driven e-commerce sites. She has supplier contacts in Bangladesh (her family own a textile wholesalers); as well as a list of eco-ethical suppliers she has personally liaised with from her work experience. She has also gained good press contacts (the BBC, Observer magazine) and she is a regular writer (articles have included interviews with Pearl Lowe and Oliver Heath) for the ethical fashion magazine"Nu".
