BA (Hons) Product Design and Development for the Fashion Industries: Clothing
I am a design graduate with a keen interest in trend forecasting and garment design for womenswear. My final year project was based around a retail concept and a women's occassionwear collection. I researched the rise of advice style services and experience based retail spaces as well as the importance of body image to today's consumer. The Little Black Dress Shop is a retail space where consumers can visit for a luxury experience and style consultation. The collection specialises in garments designed specifically to flatter different body shapes. The vision of the store is to enable women to feel confident with their appearance regardless of their shape and size. This is illustrated through the photographs of the final collection, worn by models of different sizes and body shapes.
